Channels can create gift codes for their videos and share them anywhere.

How to create a gift code

1. Open the gift code page under your settings.
2. Read the small info text.
3. Click on 'create gift code' and enter a title and select the post.

You can also generate gift codes from the Your content page or the video post itself by clicking the appropriate button.

After you create a gift code, you can send a link or the code to your friend. You can also directly send an e-mail by using the 'send mail' button.

You can create as many codes as you want. The cost is only deducted if the code gets used. As usual, you find an entry in your wallet.

Your wallet can't go into the negative. If your wallet does not have enough money, redeeming the gift code will fail, and the viewer gets an 'insufficient funts - please try later' error.

Why do I have to pay for gift codes?

The normal site cut and, if selected, the charity cut gets deducted from your wallet if your code gets redeemed.

Redeeming the code for the receiver will be 100% free for the viewer. However, we will charge the channel based on his monetization settings.

If the created code is unused, deleted, or expires, we will not deduct any fees.

The reason is fraud protection. Because we want to avoid that channels bypassing the WatchFighters monetization system by selling the videos privately but still using our infrastructure. Avoiding our monetization system would generate costs for us but no income.

In saying that, if you run a specific event or campaign and want an exception to share your codes entirely or partially for free, don't hesitate to contact us. We are more than happy to support the boost of your channel.

Example of how the price for gift codes is generated:

The price is generated based on the post you selected.
If your video costs $20, and your site cut is 10% with no charity option, we would deduct $2 from your wallet when the viewer redeems your code.
