“Iconic people in iconic places” might be the best way to describe my meeting with Brendan Byers. Some people are synonymous with gay erotic wrestling, and Brendan is unquestionably one of them. Stepping into one of the most recognizable rings in our community with one of its most recognizable wrestlers was undoubtably a dream come true

I’ve followed Brendan’s career for years. Watching him evolve from a lean, vulnerable jobber into the thick, powerhouse heel he is today has been a real source of motivation and inspiration. He’s a man who has earned every bit of his reputation and, as someone who lives and breathes professional wrestling, I couldn’t turn down an opportunity to learn from him and step up my pro game.

I was expecting a lesson.

What I got was something a lot rougher.

I’m not a small guy (well… not that small), but Brendan handled me like a paperweight. He hoisted me into racks, folded me across his knee in backbreakers, and even planted me with one of his infamous piledrivers. Every lesson came with a painful demonstration, and Coach Brendan clearly wasn’t interested in taking it easy on this eager student.

But if there’s one thing you should know about Bobby Carter, it’s that I don’t stay down for long.

Every bit of punishment only made me want to push back harder. If Brendan wanted to teach me what it meant to wrestle like a pro, I was determined to show him that I could take everything he threw at me—and return the favor in kind.

I don’t want to spoil too much, but by the end of the match, the question wasn’t whether Brendan had lived up to his nickname.

It was whether “The Brutal One” had become… “The Brutalized One.”
