Safety
-mouth guards - ALWAYS
- headgear- should fit well and is optional - prevents bruising
- shoes/boots - optional but good so you don’t tear up your feet
-groin guard - optional
Gloves
Range for bare knuckle to 16oz (maybe more)
The smaller the glove
- more bruising
- quicker KO
- less defense
Larger the glove
- less bruising
- less KO but more punch drun
- thicker defense
Opponents
Hard fights and spars +/- 15-20 lbs (suggested) - weight classes for a reason
Lighter stuff any size with talk about intensity

2026-03-04 02:37If you are using a 16,14 or 12 ounce glove, I’d manage to be hard. I would go with an MMA 6 or 4 ounce or bar knuckle set up
