Q1: Tell us a bit about your sports background.
Dio Characi: I spend a lot of time in the gym and have been training calisthenics, but my biggest passion is tumbling, which I've been practising for the past three years. It's what I enjoy the most, and all the training has built my physique, developed my muscles, and made me stronger, more athletic, and more disciplined.
Q2: How would you describe your legs and lower-body strength?
Dio Characi: My legs aren’t huge, but they’re incredibly strong, powerful, and very hairy! I cycle through my city three times a week to keep building strength and stamina, and I put a lot of focus on training my inner thighs - which is the most importantly thing when I crush someone with my legs. I’m very confident about my lower-body strength.
Q3: Which scissor hold is your favorite to apply, and why?
Dio Characi: My favourite hold is definitely the bodyscissors. I love the feeling of locking someone in and steadily increasing the pressure with a controlled squeeze. I can't really go all out with head scissors because I know how much force I can generate, and I'd rather not risk seriously hurting someone. Bodyscissors let me use my full strength while staying in control, and I also like to kiss while I'm squeezing, which makes the whole experience even better!
Q4: What does it feel like when someone is stuck between your thighs? How do people usually react to your squeeze?
Dio Characi: I always start with a controlled squeeze rather than going all out straight away. I like to build the pressure gradually instead of making someone give up immediately… the tap isn't the goal. I enjoy seeing them realise how trapped they are and watching the pressure slowly wear them down: love their face slowly turning purple! Normally they ask for more even if they are already totally destroyed.
Q5: Do you think your leg strength is above average? At what percentage of power do most people tap?
Dio Characi: I definitely think my leg strength is above average because I train with a specific purpose in mind: whether that’s through intense cycling or targeted lower-body training, my aim is to train to increase my crushing and squeezing power. Most people reach their limit at around 50% of pressure, and I still have plenty more strength reserved in case I want to make them beg more!
Q6: When was the first time you applied a scissor hold? How did it feel, and what was their reaction?
Dio Characi: I was 18, when I realized legs are more powerful than arms. Before that, I was really into bearhugs, but I quickly realised that legs can destroy my opponent way harder and make him tap easier and quicker than a bearhug hold. I don’t remember every detail of that first time, but I do remember how effective it felt, and from that moment on I was hooked.
Q7: What’s the strongest scissors you’ve ever applied? What was the situation, and what were the damages afterwards?
Dio Characi: The strongest scissors I've ever applied were against MPJ. There's a video of that session on my page, and I just kept making him tap over and over again. At that point I was at my peak in terms of leg size and strength, so I felt incredibly powerful. I only needed about 30% of my full squeezing power before he was already tapping. It was extremely humiliating for him!
Q8: Describe your headscissors in one word. Any advice for someone daring enough to take them on?
Dio Characi: PLEASURABLE. If you’re brave enough to be between my legs and have as much fun as I do, then come. Chances are you’ll remember the session forever and be asking for more.
