TíngHui has finally perfected a forbidden formula – an inhalation potion rumored to supercharge human endurance by forcing the heart into overdrive. But formulas like this demand a test subject, and he turns to the one person who trusts him most: GōngLun. At first, GōngLun hesitates, but curiosity and loyalty wins. The moment he inhales the potion, everything changes. His pulse skyrockets. His breath trembles. Then the surge becomes too violent. GōngLun's body convulses. His eyes roll back. He collapses unresponsive.
Realizing his experiment has gone horribly wrong, TíngHui snatches GōngLun into his arms and drags him onto the bed. Panic takes over. He launches into frantic CPR, compressing deep, desperate, unforgiving. The defibrillator crackles to life, sending shock after shock into GōngLun’s failing heart as TíngHui fights to reclaim his subject from the brink. Finally GōngLun gasps back to life.
However instead of gratitude, rage fills his eyes. He feels used, betrayed, disposable. Before TíngHui can react, GōngLun lunges. A sudden blow knocks TíngHui unconscious, turning the lab from a testing ground into a battlefield of revenge. Once GōngLun’s fury runs dry, the silence becomes unbearable.
Guilt sets in. He kneels beside TíngHui’s still body and begins CPR on the very man who nearly cost him his own life. Two hearts pushed past their limits.
