VAT and TAX

1) Your responsibility as content Creator:
Compliance with your local laws is your responsibility. Please check your local tax code about your responsibilities. In some jurisdictions, if you only upload videos as a hobby and not for a living, you may not be required to pay VAT or provide invoices to the buyers.

As a content creator, it is your responsibility to pay value-added tax appropriate to your local laws. If needed, WatchFighters will provide you with the necessary information to comply with the local TAX rules and regulations. Please get in contact with us over the help center if you need additional help or information.

In the future, we plan to provide an invoice system over our site, which makes it simple to send your invoices to the buyer automatically. However, we can't offer such a service for now, and it is your responsibility to send invoices if legally required to do so.

2) How much TAX does WatchFighters deduct from you as content creator:
Fast answer: Outside the EU: 0$. Inside the EU: 0.50€ on average
Each purchase is individually calculated based on the country of the content creator.
If you are outside of the financial EU (like USA, UK (because of BREXIT), APAC) no VAT deduction applies.

If you as a content creator are based inside the EU we have to use your country's VAT for general goods. The VAT average in the EU is 21%. Full list on WikiPEdia.
This 21% only applies to our provision, not the total amount.

Example: The Video costs 20$, your chosen WatchFighter cut: 10%
Case 1: You are based in the USA (No VAT applies): $20.00 - 10% = $18.00; WatchFighters earns $2.00, you earn $18.00.
Case 2: You are based in Germany (19% VAT): €20.00 - 10% = €18.00. WatchFighters earns €2.00. Additionally €0.38 VAT is deducted from your earnings, netting you €20.00 - €2.38 = €17.62
This is purely for your information and transparency reasons. Our site will automatically create the correct invoice based on the country.
But this example explains why your wallet might show VAT deductions.
Note: As explained above, you might be required to pay VAT on your earnings.

3) WatchFighters responsibility:
We provide to the content creator automatically an invoice for every transaction. These invoices are sent to the content creator's registered E-Mail address, or can be requested again over the wallet.
The amount of the invoice represents the WatchFighters cut "provision". The transfer to the content creator and/or the chosen charity is not part of the invoice.

3) Buyers rights:
The buyer can track his purchases and subscriptions.
WatchFighters is providing payment confirmation on these pages. WatchFighters is not providing an invoice to the buyer.

5) Other Services:
In the case of certain advertisement campaigns or other services we provide to the buyers or content creators, other rules or regulations might apply, and TAX-related invoices might be sent outside the wallet interface.
